Visa Inc. is an American multinational financial services corporation. It facilitates electronic funds transfers throughout the world, most commonly through Visa-branded credit cards and debit cards.

Project overview

Razorfish worked with VISA in an attempt to generate a robust icon library for website use.

My Role

The team consited of two art directors and several designers. We were responsible for creating a cohesive set of icons and a defined styleguide for future icon development.

The linear style icons were to be used for VISA.com main navigation of the site. A simple but elegant treatment was provided for users to easily read and understand the connection between icons and VISA services. These icons were intended to be simple and playful, yet purposefull cues for visitors of the site.

Part of this icon excersice was also to extend to VISA's existing icon set. Their existing set of icons consisted of a simple two color pallete. Our focus was to make the entire icon set look conhesive and establish a consitent look and feel through each icon.

In addition to the icon libraries we created for VISA, we were also requested to create a set of illustrations that would compliment other sections of their site. These illustrations were intended to be more detailed and would display at a larger size than icons.

The aesthetics and specifications that defined each icon style was documented. This styleguide would serve as foundation for future developement of icons.
